Fishing Report ~ December 19th, 2024
Winter can be an overlooked time of year for fishing in northern New Mexico. There are some great fishing opportunities to be had whether for trout or toothy critters like pike. This is a great time of year to throw streamers or work on your nymphing techniques, and on overcast days you can find baetis hatches. Check out the latest video fishing report below for more details on what is happening on the water, what our guides have been using and where we have been fishing recently. January 2025 Class Schedule
Beginning in January Land of Enchantment Guides and The Fly Fishing Outpost will be offering free classes on Sunday mornings. Our classes will cover everything from introductory fly fishing classes, fly tying to fishing locations around northern New Mexico.
New Fly Patterns for 2025
We have been getting in some terrific new fly patterns for the 2025 fishing season, all of which we have tested on the water and boy, they sure do work! Cow Creek Ranch
We are happy to announce that we are now doing both multi-day, all-inclusive fishing packages and guided day trips at Cow Creek Ranch. This amazing private location has over 3 miles of stream and 7 lakes, all of which are full of four different species of trout and, there are some real lunkers! We have been guiding anglers and fishing at Cow Creek Ranch off and on for almost 20 years and feel that it is arguably the finest fishing property in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Fly Tyer is the best publication on the market on all types of fly tying and materials. Though primarily a magazine on all things concerning fly tying, it is an equally good source of many fishing skills and techniques.
